Farewell Vancouver

Spent a relaxing morning after a pretty busy first week. Strolled out to visit Christchurch cathedral, where I saw both old and new stained glass. The new project, produced by a First Nations artist was stunning and the greeter allowed me to sit and read about it in a lovely book about the artist.
There was also an interesting embroidery creation by the local community.

And I stopped and admired the impressive public library!

I strolled up and back along Robson Street, full of expensive shops and, as always I wondered who goes in and buys all this stuff, clothes, make up....how much can you use in a lifetime?

This has been an interesting week, and what would interest me most would be spending some time on the west coast but not in the cities. Maybe travelling by local transport from one community to another. Something more chilled ! An idea to tuck away for a later date. Perhaps I'll talk to Patrick.....
