Am continuing to work on the subjunctive, a tense widely used here. Apparently if you invite someone to supper they can say si or non, but they might use this tense to say it is possible they will come. But that could well mean that they are politely telling you they probably won't come! Such are language differences!
I have also been working on a poem which I had to rewrite; when I made a few errors and suggested I should start again, Carlos said it was important to enjoy it and I could always come back again and find a novio, a partner! I told him I was actually looking out for a toy boy. We have had a lot of laughs this week, but I will move to a new teacher next week.
Christmas preparations have started and yesterday evening I went with Sandra, to the light show and parade. This time we reserved a table in a restaurant so we could watch in comfort from the balcony.
Once more there were the marching and dancing bands and floats. And this evening the staff were decorating the coffee area, plus I have my 3D card from Jen on my dining table!
Today I went to the assembly of the ladies from the arts cooperative. I was pleased I hadn't been able to go to the whole event as it was quite difficult to follow the business being discussed. However, I had to feel honoured by their invitation and they gave me lunch then I made my excuses and left. At one point Nehry started to tell them who I was and why I was there and I thought for a minute I was going to have to make a speech! What I did understand was that they were celebrating 15 years of the cooperative.
I finished the week with a visit to the jacuzzi, which unfortunately wasn't working well so was lukewarm. I didn't want to cause offence so I made the most of it. With that and the lack of internet in the apartment at present, looks like there are gremlins around. At least I can walk down to the school over the weekend if it doesn't come on.
As a bonus it's been a glorious day and today I could see 'my view' again, and the men were at work again on the pavement, although I have to say they only seem to have progressed about 100 yards since last year!!!
